I was one those who refused to see the LilLo flick after her DUI incident. Call it a strike if you want but O WTH! Last Night I was scanning through my Video Stores collection of recently released DVD’s and I came across Georgia Rule…

At first I was like Hell No! because of the Criticism the film got but at the end I ended up taking the flick home. The film to me was actually not a bad flick and could easily have been put down by the bad timing of her DUI incident!

The story to me had a lot to give in terms of plot and lessons to learn. LiLo gave a great performance not her best but she was convincing. Felicity Huffman was one of those who clearly stood out with Jane Fonda giving the same Monster In Law Performance.

Like I said I loved the storyline, it wasn’t as bad as i thought it would be and it was definitely worth the $2.79 I paid to rent it.

It’s not Oscar Worthy but the message the film had was unique and very uplifting especially to those who have been abused. I’m not saying you should manipulate the person abusing you like LiLo’s character Rachel did! I’m saying the film was right Abused children to feel the need to be loved and we all should stand up and do that. Mothers Trust your Children and Children Earn your Mothers Trust!

Incase you were I wasnt drunk or dizzy from the Aspirin that I’m taking for my Injury…

It was actually a great flick almost touching but not the type you’d cry to!

Good Movie, Great Cast 6/10 for me!

Exactly what i said a couple of posts backs came true!… Critics and Actors that starred in the film are slamming the Jlo and Marc Anthony flick as well. According to the LA Times Jennifer Lopez and Husband Marc Anthony are defending their Picture against the critics.

After the film’s premiere in Puerto Rico, salsa singer Ismael Miranda, a Lavoe contemporary who plays his father in “El Cantante,” publicly condemned the film for focusing too much on the tragic artist’s drug abuse, which eventually led to his death from AIDS complications. Miranda was joined in his critique by singer Domingo Qui??nez, who also has a bit part in the movie, and Cheo Feliciano, a revered vocalist and member (along with Miranda and Lavoe) of the Fania All-Stars, the ’70s’ super-group that helped launch the salsa boom.

And it doesn’t stop there…..

It turned up Wednesday on that Yahoo forum in the form of a post from none other than Willie Col?n, the bandleader who was Lavoe’s partner and producer for two decades. Even though Col?n had been hired as a consultant on the film, he now says he’s disappointed with the results.

“The creators of El Cantante missed an opportunity to do something of relevance for our community,” Col?n wrote. “The real story was about Hector fighting the obstacles of a nonsupportive industry that took advantage of entertainers with his charisma and talent. Instead they did another movie about two Puerto Rican junkies. . . .

“It’s difficult to comprehend how two individuals who are in the music business like Marc and Jennifer are not aware of the damage and the consequences of promoting only the negative side of our Latin music culture.”

Like I said it, the time has come that Jlo face the music… you cant take on a project and only show the negative side..what about the good things he did!

Well to tell you the honest truth I’m not suprised at all after all its a Jlo and Marc Anthony film!

But Jlo what happened to the spirit you had when you played Selena…what am i saying that was 3 Husbands ago…life was different then!
