I was one those who refused to see the LilLo flick after her DUI incident. Call it a strike if you want but O WTH! Last Night I was scanning through my Video Stores collection of recently released DVD’s and I came across Georgia Rule…

At first I was like Hell No! because of the Criticism the film got but at the end I ended up taking the flick home. The film to me was actually not a bad flick and could easily have been put down by the bad timing of her DUI incident!

The story to me had a lot to give in terms of plot and lessons to learn. LiLo gave a great performance not her best but she was convincing. Felicity Huffman was one of those who clearly stood out with Jane Fonda giving the same Monster In Law Performance.

Like I said I loved the storyline, it wasn’t as bad as i thought it would be and it was definitely worth the $2.79 I paid to rent it.

It’s not Oscar Worthy but the message the film had was unique and very uplifting especially to those who have been abused. I’m not saying you should manipulate the person abusing you like LiLo’s character Rachel did! I’m saying the film was right Abused children to feel the need to be loved and we all should stand up and do that. Mothers Trust your Children and Children Earn your Mothers Trust!

Incase you were I wasnt drunk or dizzy from the Aspirin that I’m taking for my Injury…

It was actually a great flick almost touching but not the type you’d cry to!

Good Movie, Great Cast 6/10 for me!

This is a Must have for your DVD Collection, Sandra Bullock is Magnificent in this picture! heres a synopsis from IMDB

Depressed housewife learns her husband was killed in a car accident the day previously, awakens the next morning to find him alive and well at home, and then awakens the next day after to a world in which he is still dead.

I know the synopsis is rather confusing but ill give you a little hint. The Stars in this film are: Sandra Bullock, Julian Mcmahon and Nia Long

Now From start to finish it is a film that keeps you on your toes, make sure you pause before doing any chores as you may miss any important parts in the movie. It is definitely not your average movie that goes straight to the middle it frequently goes back and forth in a timeline fashion to bring you up to date with what you see on screen so in other words you gotta remember some stuff!

A must have an a truly mind raking film 5 thumbs up for me and a great ending! (certainly not what you would expect)

If your a Sandra Bullock fan you will love this, its Sandra at her best and even if you’re not you will after this.

It’s sitting on my shelf right now as I type this and like Miss Congeniality I might keep watching till it gets scratched!

The Film Stars

Jennifer Garner
Timothy Olyphant
Kevin Smith
Juliette Lewis

Heres the IMDB Plot outline:

After the sudden death of her fianc?, Gray Wheeler finds comfort in the company of his friends: lighthearted and comic Sam, hyper-responsible Dennis, and, oddly enough, his old childhood buddy Fritz, an irresponsible playboy whom she?d previously pegged as one of the least reliable people in the world. As secrets about her supposedly perfect fianc? emerge, Gray comes to see new sides of the man she thought she knew, and at the same time, finds herself drawn to the last man she ever expected to fall for.

Heres my Review:

Well i wont lie, ever since the end of alias its pretty hard to forget that shes not gonna jump off a cliff anytime soon. Jennifer Garner did well in interpreting the role of Gray but somewhere down the line her emotions where unconvincing, she has this face she does when shes about to cry and its like uggghh turn it off. Shes a great actress though may be a bad crier lol. The supporting cast were great like Kevin smith who was not laugh out loud funny but managed to make you smile also i though Timothy Olyphant played the role well but in the middle of the film i kind of predicted the end before it came. The writer did a fantastic job because the characters are unbelievably unique and you could tell that they all had something to bring to the table.

I would give the film a 7/10 because the story was heartwarming
and Jennifer Garner as the Lead Female 6/10

The Question What makes you watch a movie? may seem like an ordinary question to you but to some its a complex one.

Is it the Title? The Synopsis? or The Actors and Actresses present in the Movie?
The Reason i ask is nowadays I find it difficult to watch a movie if the Title sounds Weird! I actually prefer to watch movies that the title is far from what it is about..that way when i watch it, I may actually finish it in the quest to find out why the name was different. But for many the Title and all that doesnt matter, all they see is their favourite actor or actress or actor on screen and they are satisfied. I dont personally see it as a bad thing to watch a film based on the actors or actresses present in it..in fact i call it Supporting them.

Moving Along

Doesnt it just annoy you when you watch a movie and you already know the end while your in the middle of the film!! Same for me infact i detest it! Ive watched some hollywood and nollywood movies and the same thing has happened over and over again! I remember for a while i even had to stop watching Action Hero movies cause the endings were all the same…the typical Good Guy and Bad Guy Fights where the Bad Guy beats the Good Guy to the point that the Good Guy is almost dead and you know some voice in the Good Guys head starts chanting and before you know it hes risen again and he defeats the bad guy!!! This lead me to ask my self Are movies becoming too predictable? Or am i the one that expects too much from movies. Sometimes if its not the reocurring synopsis is the re-ocurring roles!!

To end this……to me….

Its still the same ‘ol Different Strokes for Differrent Folks, the reasons you watch movies may not be the same reasons why i watch them...Everyone has a reason why they sit down to watch a movie, be it for entertainment purposes or because it was recommended. I Think we all have deciding factors and all of them are unique in their own way….…..
